Breaking the Silence

Voices of Tamar derives its name from Tamar, the daughter of King David and the sister to Amnon, son of King David (see, 2 Samuel 13:1-22). We initiated the name, “Voices of Tamar” to acknowledge our support and spiritual faith to individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. We are committed to connecting individuals with organizations and facilites that can provide services to address the psychological and traumatizing effects of abuse.

How We Help

Our mission is to bring awareness of issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault and other traumatizing life experiences to families and individuals within our communities. We encourage participation in shared activities that promote and support wellness.

“Come unot me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

— MATTHEW 11:28-30
